My journey as a Blogger
Hello, have you started your blog? or still looking for the best platform? or maybe just want to hear from a newbie about his experience?
In any event, Welcome. I am Khurram and I recently started Blogging seriously. yes, I write my first post a long time ago when I was a kid and don’t know much about Blogging.
But recently early in 2022 yes in January and started blogging but this time a little seriously. I created a blog on blogger with a large name and that is the “universe of information and technology” that’s a large one isn’t it? I didn’t get that one even indexed by google but bing was there with me.
In Bing search results my articles were ranked on the first page with some keywords and I also was getting views like 3 to 4 on a daily basis If I am not forgetting. that number was great for me as a beginner.
First I thought It was my mistake somehow and I didn’t know how but… I have joined many blogger communities hence I came to know that many people are facing the same trouble. Google is not indexing new articles that easily nowadays.
I also joined medium because I have got rejected by Google Adsence and media.net. That was not the only reason for me to join the medium. The main reason was the ads-free platform for viewers. If you do not know what medium is then first let me introduce it to you.
Medium is a platform where you can read articles, stories, poems, and other writing stuff but with a subscription. You can read a few for free every month but in order to get access to all of them, you must have to pay. There are two plains currently monthly subscription and yearly one.
there is a medium partner program for writers. They pay per minute read on your article by viewers. If you have posted an article of almost five minutes read and you get 100 views on them and each viewer read your article for two minutes then the total minute read will be two hundred minutes.
I am not mentioning fees and other money-related stuff because they can keep changing over time.
Guess what? They have a condition for writers to get in the partner program and that is you must have at least one hundred followers and one story (article) posted. So, I did it. I got a hundred followers and I have articles there but when I tried to apply I got to know that I can not because my country was not eligible. It’s not because they do not want my country to be in but they have stripe for payments methods so, I just can not.
Hence what I learnt was Always check payout methods before working for any website.
I also copied my articles and pasted them to quora space. Quora space is a new feature in Quora for articles but guesses what again stripe. so, deleted my all articles from there. I have still articles in medium because of canonical links.
I deleted all my posts from that blog and posted all of the articles in the new blog with the name techiness. It’s just because the time I started blogging I chose a long name so, that’s why I had to change links from medium and Pinterest as well. But this time I have one article indexed by Google as well.
I also created another blogger blog but have only posted one article in there.
I search for medium alternatives but didn’t find one for me. It’s because the most popular alternative was Hubspot and it contains ads I hate ads not all of them but I can not control ads on some other’s websites so… the other alternate also does not support my country and it is vocal media.
Because of all that I skipped the article writing for some time and started vector designing and that gave me the chance of exploring new software. They are not new in the market but I used them recently for the first time not all of them.
But again here I am writing an article for my blog once again. I am not thinking to quit it but here is what I really want to say to all new article writers and that is
It takes time.
Stay focused on content and try to not give up.
